On 30 September, Boxer ICT officially opened our new office at Level 3, 31 Market Street, Sydney CBD, after more than 20 years as a Telstra partner. Several members of the Telstra team joined us to mark the occasion: Natasha Skinner, Adam Hall, Steve Combes, Mark Ansell, Jan Ergan, Kelvin Black and David Félix.
As our consultant Peter Williamson put it, “Boxer ICT goes upmarket on Market.”
More Than 20 Years as a Telstra Partner in Sydney
Principals Andrew Bokser and Sarah Lai welcomed our guests. Andrew took the chance to look back on more than 20 years as an active Telstra partner. That relationship has run through Telstra’s Opportunity Knocks program and TBC Sydney CBD North. Today, Boxer ICT is a Telstra Enterprise Partner.
Andrew thanked Telstra and the Boxer ICT team for their continued support. He also reflected on the work we’ve done in the Sydney market over that time, including helping with the original setup of Uber in Australia.
Much of Boxer ICT’s growth has come through relationships with people across Telstra. Over the years, many of them have introduced customers to us and trusted us with those relationships. We don’t take that lightly.
How We Work Alongside Telstra
Our role is to handle the day-to-day detail, so customers get fast, local help and Telstra’s account teams know their customers are in good hands. That detail includes SIM swaps, international roaming, device management, plan changes and monthly bill checks.
Long relationships are part of how we work. Some of our customers have been with us for 15 years. We know their history, their setup and their people, and that helps us resolve requests quickly.
Our support team is employed directly by Boxer ICT and based here in Australia, so when a customer calls, they speak to our own people. That’s a big part of why working with one IT service provider is simpler than juggling several.
From Mobility Partner to Managed Services
Boxer ICT began as a key mobility partner. As Telstra and the wider telecommunications industry evolved, we evolved with them. Today we deliver a full suite of managed services across four areas:
- Unified communications, including cloud phone systems and video conferencing
- Mobility, including mobile fleets, devices, contracts and roaming
- IT and cyber security, including hardware, Microsoft 365, servers and backup
- Internet services, including NBN, fibre, firewalls and multi-site networking
Each area is covered in more detail through our Unified Communications, Enterprise Mobility, IT & Cloud Services and Data & IP Services pages, and all four come together under Managed Services.
Around all four, we manage telco spend. That means reconciling bills, finding services that aren’t being used and reporting back on what’s been saved. For one major Sydney cultural institution, that meant identifying and cancelling between 200 and 300 dormant mobile services.
For a global shipping company, we scope, deliver and manage the IT on every vessel in the fleet, around the clock. That covers networking, devices, firewalls and satellite connectivity.
We work with businesses and government agencies across NSW, in sectors including maritime, construction, mining, technology, not-for-profit and the First Nations sector.
Not the Biggest, but One of the Most Passionate
Andrew also made one point clear: Boxer ICT may not be the biggest partner in the Telstra ecosystem, but we are one of the most passionate.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate. We look forward to another 20 years of working with Telstra to look after our mutual customers.
